Our Story

We are Adrian and Jacqueline Hamoen, Co-owners of Birch Creek Farms Ltd. We raise bison to supply our customers with grass fed bison meat. Bison meat is very low in fat, low cholesterol, nutrient dense, high in iron, Omega 3, vitamin C and other antioxidants.  There are no added hormones or antibiotics. If you have high cholesterol as I have, trouble with the fats on traditional beef and pork, or on a keto diet this meat is for you.

We have been raising bison and since 1997, first as a hobby and now full time.  Recently we are expanding as we got out of the  hog and grain business. In 2020, we started looking seriously at direct marketing after studying regenerative grazing methods and reading Gabe Brown's book on “Dirt to Soil”.  We also wanted to know who was buying our animals rather than just selling a commodity.

Our goal is to raise grass fed bison in as natural an environment as possible. Grass fed bison has the best health attributes if you're looking for meat that is low fat, low cholesterol, high in iron, and high in omega 3 fatty acids.

What does this have to do with you? We want to be your supplier of quality home raised meat. You know your meat is coming from a farm where the care of our animals and soil is the first priority, rather than a supermarket where meat is sourced from whichever wholesaler has the best price that week. You get the confidence  of  knowing where  your meat comes from and we get the satisfaction of supplying your family with the best product we can.

If you're looking for healthy, low fat, naturally raised bison meat, please contact us via website, e-mail, or just give us a phone call. We want you to consider us to be your family’s supplier of quality, farm fresh bison meat.
